Taking a Bite out of Europe!
While on our Rick Steves Best of Europe 14 Day Tour, we had the opportunity to experience a variety of different local foods and taste new things that we had never tried before. For me, this was more of a difficult task because I am so darn picky when it comes to what I will eat. Fortunately for me, we were always given several options at mealtime for those dinners that we shared together as a group.
While we were on our tour, one of the fun activities that was included was a Tuscan Cooking Demonstration. To learn more about it and get some great new recipes, click on the button below.

While on our tour we were treated to all of these different mouth-watering experiences and I have to say I'm happy to have stepped out of my comfort zone to do so. The scariest one to attempt of course was the escargot, however it really wasn't so bad. It actually tasted and smelled really good with all of the butter and garlic they flavor it with. The texture is just really strange. Its like pre-chewed bubble-gum.
Another new food I tried reluctantly, although I had already had some and didn't find out until later was veal. I had never had veal prior to coming on this trip. The funny thing is that when I first tried it at the Auto Grill buffet earlier on in the trip I thought it was fried chicken. So when they showed us our options for dinner later in Rome and said we would be having veal, I said I didn't want any until Nestor explained to me that I had already tried some and liked it earlier on in the trip. Silly me for not knowing better.
